We just started a new 6 week session of poi, staff and hoop dance classes and there are still a few spots open. Here's your chance to fire dance before 2009! The spin jam is held at Runyon Canyon ~ We'll be in the fenced off grassy area at the base of the park. Enter on Fuller. Bring your poi, staff, hoop, drum or guitar and join us in the park. All levels are welcome!

Halloween Weekend

Fire Groove rocked Hollywood Halloween week, performing at the sexiest events all around the city!

Some of the highlights include: Robert Gladden's retirement party (Gladden was the first fire marshal to give us a permit... we love you Robert!) the sizzling soiree at the Candlelight Kitchen & Bar in Simi Valley, a sexy Halloween wedding in Ventura, Key Club owner Jerry Pressman's annual holiday party with a private concert by Gavin Rossdale, Hush Lounge the hot new Hollywood speakeasy held every Tuesday night, and last but not least, the 21st annual Halloween Masquerade Ball put on by DASK Productions held at the Henry Fonda Theater. Whew! There could not have been a more busy time for Fire Groove and all of the amazing dancers in our crew!

We at Fire Groove pride ourselves on being the top in the entertainment industry, bringing fresh new acts and faces, spectacular costumes, beautiful body painting and a refreshing positive can do attitude. If you haven't experienced one of our shows... come on, the time is now! We are currently booking for the holiday season so if you want to really spice up your party, give us a call. Beginning Tuesday October 28th Fire Groove & Wall of Tom will begin their residency at Hush Lounge in Hollywood. Think Edison on Wednesday nights but with even more of a sexy 20's era vibe. Hush Lounge is located beneath the Hillview Apartments once owned by Charlie Chaplain, Hush is the site of Rudolph Valentino's prohibition-era speakeasy. The venue has been beautifully remodeled to capture the look and feel of this historic Hollywood landmark. It is going to be super low door fee's, drink specials, burlesque and special performances by Fire Groove, DJ IMG spinning mash ups of old blues from the 20's-40's, Wall of Tom performing 3 sets per night, and the whole night hosted by Jesus H. Christ. Oh la la.

Spin, Skate & Create
TransWorld Skateboarding held the first ever contest called "Skate and Create". Four pro skate teams spent nine days in a warehouse building a skateboarding environment to represent their team best through video and photography with no photoshop or special effects manipulation used. Fire Groove was invited to help the Osiris team put the cherry on top! Feast your eyes on these smokin' hot pictures and video with pro skaters John Rattray, Caswell Berry, Shuriken Shannon, Corey Duffel and Jimmy Carlin. Who would have thought skateboarding and fire could be so hot together?

TransWorld: Where you'd find those fire-twirling girls? Did they light anybody's hearts on fire? John Rattray: Firegroove.com. Stunningly beautiful and incredibly professional.

TransWorld: Did you ever have trouble rolling away from a trick with all the hay all over the ground? Did any other variables get in your way? John Rattray: When you're at ease performing in front of thousands of screaming fans a little hay and some moist, glistening cleavage is a mere trifle. To pros like the Osiris team, the "variables" you talk of were shrugged away like sand off a camel's toe.

Buugeng & Double Staff Workshops with Dai

Dai Zaobab born in Japan and living in South Africa is one of the most amazing spinners and performers we've seen in a long time. And we see a lot of them! He has been fire dancing and juggling for 9 years and has been practicing martial arts for 7 years. His love of fire is rooted deep in his spirit. Since Dai won 1st place in the Circles of Light 2007 video competition, he has taken the spinning world by storm!

We first met Dai at Burning Man this summer and couldn't help but feel an instant connection. We are honored and excited to announce that we will be hosting two very special workshops in Buugeng and Double Staff for him on November 15th and 17th. What is Buugeng you say? It's also been called S Staves. We were first introduced to this mesmerizing form of spinning by Banyan. Buugeng has many similarities to double staves but when they are spun, they look like liquid and create beautiful optical illusions & sacred geometric patterns.

MATERIAL: Body Movement / Tai chi. Prepare for Buugeng with Double Staff movement. Learning how to spin Buugeng!
TOOLS: There are a limited number of handcrafted Buugeng sets by Dai himself. You'll receive 10% off the price if you take this workshop and want to buy a set. You do not have to buy a set to take this workshop.

			Fire Hoop Our durable and lightweight fire hoops are perfect for the beginner and advanced performer alike. They have a 38" diameter and are made from 160 PSI tubing. Our hoops come with 6 easily detachable wicks (no pliers needed!) Each of the spines are 6 1/2" long and come with a flexible base. We add foam tape to the inside of the hoop which makes fire hooping super easy on the body. Choose from sparkling silver or glamorous gold and get ready to turn some heads with this beauty. Large Fire Poi If you've been looking for a lot of extra flame to dazzle your audience with, then look no further! Our brand new large fire poi are just that. A LOT OF EXTRA FLAME!!! These poi are constructed the same as our regular size cathedral poi but instead of a 2 x 2 inch square, they are a 2 x 3 inch rectangle and that extra inch adds an amazing amount of fire for you advanced and intermediate spinners who love fire. So crank up the danger factor and make your performance a lot hotter! New Groovy Colors We have also added a few new colors to our groovy practice toys so if you haven't found your color of choice before, we probably have it now.
